News automations allow you to take advantage of SalesIntel's news data by crafting email alerts that specifically meet your needs. First, you can choose the type of news in which you are interested. Then, you can register companies. When any of these companies have news events that match your interests, you'll receive an email alert at the frequency and time that you've requested. Click on the link in your email to view all the companies with the news events of interest.
Configure an Alert
To get started, you'll need to set up your first alert. First, go to the Welcome menu and go to Automations > News Automations.
- Select View/Create Alerts > New Alert.
- Give your alert a name. This will appear in your email notifications, as well.
- Select a category or a specific type of news data for your alert. You may select multiple categories or types.
- Select the frequency of your alert. Once you select daily, weekly, or monthly, you'll be asked to pick a date and time of day The time of day is set based on your browser settings when you configure the alert.
- Choose your saved search or set the alert to be universal. If you used a saved search, you will only receive news alerts for companies in this search, but your search is limited to 100,000 companies. If your alert is universal, you will receive notifications about every company with these news events. In some cases, this may be quite a bit of data and possibly too much for you to use.
Save your alert. You will start to receive alerts in the next 1-2 days, based on the timing of your configuration and the frequency you've set. If your frequency is infrequent or if your alert targets a comparatively few specific companies, it could be longer.
Legacy News Alerts
In our beta release, news alerts were configured by registering individual companies for the alert. This functionality has been sunset. Your existing alerts will continue to run, but you cannot update these alerts until you switch them to either qualify companies via saved search or use the universal setting. If you see this message, you are viewing a legacy alert:
