Salesforce Settings
A. General:
- Export Default Type: This setting lets you choose the default export type, either a Lead or a Contact, or set it up as a prompt so that when you go to export records it will give you a prompt to choose from.
- Duplicate Resolution: This setting lets you choose how the system will behave when it saw a duplicate record from the list you're exporting and from your Salesforce instance. You can select either Always Skip, Always Update, Always Append (Blank fields only), or Prompt so that it will give you options to choose from when you export a duplicate.
(This is how it will be presented to you when you try to export a record and this setting is set to Prompt. You can either skip, update all fields, or update only blanks) - Prompt for Lead/Contact Owners: This is an optional setting that you can activate. When you opt for ‘Prompt for Lead Owners’ or ‘Prompt for Contact Owners’, you’ll get a list of active contacts to choose from. You can either Select a lead owner/contact owner for your contacts, or not, and click ‘Next.’
(This is how it will be presented to you when you try to export a lead and this setting is ON)
(This is how it will be presented to you when you try to export a contact and this setting is ON) - Prompt for Campaign: This is another optional setting that you can activate. When you opt for ‘Prompt for Campaigns,’ you’ll get a list of active campaigns to choose from. You can either select a campaign, or multiple campaigns from the list or not. Then click ‘Next.
(This is how it will be presented to you when you try to export a record when this setting is ON) - Create New Account: This setting will allow SalesIntel to include the Account Info of the record that you exported to be carried to your Salesforce instance. If this is turned OFF, the record will not be associated with any Account in your Salesforce.
(How it will show up in your SFDC if this setting is OFF) - Prompt for Account Mapping: This setting will prompt you a selection of which existing Account would you like the record to be associated with, or create a totally new account for this record.
(This is how it will be presented to you when you try to export a record when this setting is ON)
B. Lead, Contact, & Account Mapping
This setting allows you to map the fields that you get from the SalesIntel record going to your Salesforce record.
Note: There are some fields that are locked and cannot change the mapping depending on the record. This is by design in relation to how Salesforce accepts info for this certain fields. Also, there are some fields that may require certain types (ie. phone number, integer) depending on how these fields are set up in your Salesforce instance. For example, you cannot map "Country" to "Number of Employees" since "Number of Employees" field requires an integer value. |
While exporting records you are required to check the Allow Overwrite field or your existing contact within Salesforce will remain intact.
Note: While exporting a contact(s), if it is already a lead in Salesforce, we cannot convert it into a contact, and vice versa, because Salesforce doesn’t support that functionality in their Rest API. As a possible workaround with that, you need to manually convert the lead into a contact from within Salesforce. |
(ex: the following contact already exists as a lead in Salesforce, you will receive the following window.)
